Noel Gallagher isn’t going to change the world with his latest album but it’s enough to wet the taste buds of every Mancunian awaiting his return. The album is somewhat un-original from a songwriter I hoped to see divert himself away from the Oasis sound. Tasteful hints of brass show that Noel is on the fringe of breaking away, although a horn section isn’t enough to disguise the fact that “the death of you and me” sounds like “the importance of being idol”. At the end of the day it’s all about the band. Not Liam’s band.
